Overview

Five Nights at Freddy's 2 is a 2014 point-and-click survival horror game and the second main entry in the series. It takes place in a Freddy Fazbear's Pizza location where the player works nights as a security guard and watches for hostile animatronics.

The setup is simple enough. You stay in the office, track movement through security cameras, and use a flashlight and an animatronic mask to avoid being caught. The building has a center hallway and two side air vents, and the animatronics can enter those routes. If they reach you, it usually ends in a jumpscare and a game over.

The game also uses phone calls and Atari-styled minigames to fill in the restaurant's backstory. Its cast includes older animatronics, remodeled toy versions of familiar characters, and a couple of new arrivals, all tied to the restaurant's updated security gimmick and its clear failure to keep anyone safe.
